The Role of  Project Manager in Erasmus+ Programme

The Project Manager (PM)  typically tasks such as monitoring of EU policies and funding programmes, identification of calls for proposals, international networking and definition of consortia, research and analysis, structuring of project ideas and drafting of EU projects, financial management, quality assessment and management, reporting, communication campaigns and organisation of events.

When organizations look for a project manager, for the development and implementation of Erasmus+ projects, they are not focused on individual pupils’ mobility and staff mobility only. 

About the role of a Erasmus+ project manager

In general, the PM will be responsible for the following tasks: 

  • implementing an Erasmus+ mobility project for its entire cycle; 
  • coordinating and supporting the partners involved (sending and hosting partners); 
  • managing the project budget and its administrative tasks (documentation, final report); 
  • cooperating and providing support to other teams involved in the development, implementation and evaluation of Erasmus+ mobility projects. 

The Erasmus+ Project manager is a person who is able to build strong and trustful relationships with the partners and who is able to take responsibilities. The ideal candidate is willing to work in the educational sector and is able to have a full overview over the projects he/she coordinates. 

Also, it is expect that you have: 

  • fluency in English; 
  • good organizational skills and problem solving attitude; 
  • decision-making skills; 
  • ability to set priorities and respect deadlines; 
  • a creative, innovative and proactive approach; 
  • excellent pedagogical and didactic skills proved by experience. 

So, don’t forget to plan and implement an Erasmus+ project: 

  • Define the goals of the project. 
  • Choose and commit the partners. 
  • Ensure sufficient resources, time and tools for the project. 
  • Commit the management. 
  • Evaluate and reform the activities. 
  • Make sure communication is planned and continuous.
