Are you ready for an outstanding experience abroad? Are you ready for your long-awaited Erasmus+ or Turing Scheme internship? Are you ready to discover a different destination beyond your own country and meet the locals living there? Are you ready to expand your working experience and develop your skills during an astonishing Turing Scheme or Erasmus+ mobility? We guess, yes, you’re ready! Have you wondered about the duration of your work placement and the length of time that you’d like to experience an internship abroad? We’re going to tell you about the different durations of Erasmus+ or Turing Scheme internships to help you decide.

Short-term Internships

Many Erasmus+ or Turing Scheme interns prefer staying for a short-term internship at their desired destination to put into practice some of their theoretical know-how acquired during their education. Generally, these types of work placements last from two weeks to three months in total. Reasons for choosing a short-term Erasmus+ or Turing Scheme mobility are different. Some want to gain professional experience during their summer break as they have to return to school in the autumn. Others are allowed to participate in these types of programmes during their school time but only for a determined period of time agreed by the school. Another explanation could be for private reasons or individual preferences.

Long-term Internships

Just like the short-term internships, there are also long-term mobilities. These Erasmus+ or Turing Scheme work placements last from four to twelve months. Students have various reasons why they want to stay for a longer period of time abroad. They might have permission from their school, or they want to gain some professional experience after graduation and before starting their real job.

As mentioned above, there are several durations available for any Erasmus+ or Turing Scheme internship and everyone can benefit from a great opportunity to develop their skills. Furthermore, bear in mind that every business field is different and requires certain duration. Aside from that, companies differ too, and they can define how long an Erasmus+ or Turing Scheme intern should be a part of their team. However, the most common duration of a work placement is four weeks, and most of our customers prefer that amount of time.

As we organise many internships for various business fields and students, we suggest experiencing a work placement for a minimum of two weeks to six months to be able to acquire new skills and improve your language abilities abroad. Think carefully about what you want to learn, which business field you want to choose, which destination you want to discover and how long you can spend abroad – remember your financial reasons and what your school suggests.
